How Veronica Romney Started Her Rainmaker Programs to Launch Her Successful Training Company
- Who: Veronica Romney
- Website: rainmakerresidency.com
- Course Topic: Leadership Training
Who are you and what course have you created?
I am the Founder and CEO of Rainmaker Residency™. Under this program, I have created an online course for Visionary CEOs and their Marketing Leaders called “The 5 Fortune Framework™”. I am also in the process of creating an online course for the Marketing Leaders only called “The 4 Pillars of Promotion™”.
What market does your online course serve?
My first course is a curriculum serving the CEOs of online businesses specifically and their Marketing Leaders. This course is designed to help the CEOs and Marketing Leaders come together and work seamlessly so that the CEOs can be free from the day-to-day marketing tasks and focus on their CEO duties like giving, getting investors, sharing their thought leadership, etc. The course also trains Marketers to step into leadership positions and take over all the marketing duties and responsibilities while also managing the entire marketing team better. This course covers five fortune frameworks, which are The Perfect Marketing Leader, The Perfect Marketing Team, The Perfect Marketing Content Factory, The Perfect Marketing Launch, and The Perfect Marketing Roadmap.
My newest course is a curriculum, “The 4 Pillars of Promotion,” that serves Marketing Leaders from all types of business verticals and with all kinds of different backgrounds and different career stages. This course helps ambitiously frustrated Marketing Leaders to transform from burned-out to sought-after Marketing Leaders with multi-six-figure salaries to match their worth. This course covers the four pillars: Master Yourself, Master Your Team, Master Your Role, and Master Your Brand.
Both of these courses are coupled with mastermind-level support with multiple specialized coaches, a community of other CEOs and Marketing Leaders, and two life-changing retreats!
What’s the biggest benefit of taking your course?
The biggest benefit of taking my course is learning how to save time and advance careers for both CEOs and Marketing Leaders. For both, time is the biggest enemy because they never have enough, so each course teaches them multiple leadership and marketing skills and strategies that help them save time and manage their energy better.
How did you get into the market?
It all started with my own personal journey as a marketer and entrepreneur. I’ve always been fascinated by the power of marketing and the impact it can have on businesses.
But it wasn’t always rainbows and unicorns. I faced challenges along the way, just like many other marketers out there. Through those challenges, I realized the importance of having a strong support system and a community of like-minded individuals who can understand and empathize with the ups and downs of the entrepreneurial and marketing journey.
That’s when the idea for Rainmaker Residency™ started to take shape. I wanted to create a space where founders and team members could gather, share their stories, and learn from one another. This led to providing a platform where the truths of being a CEO and Marketing Leaders could be openly discussed and celebrated.
I wanted Rainmaker Residency™ to be a place where dreamers are inspired, and leaders are empowered. A place where we can all grow and learn from each other’s experiences. And that’s exactly what it has become.
Why did you decide to create an online course in the first place?
I created the online course with the goal of making training accessible to the busiest professionals I know. My intention was to provide it in an evergreen format, ensuring that CEOs and Marketing Leaders could access the material at their convenience, from wherever they are, and revisit it as needed.
Did you have any moments of doubt before you created/launched it?
I honestly didn’t. Creating the course was time-consuming, for sure. But I always teach the content live before I use it in an evergreen course. This helps me master the material and understand what is actually needed in the course.
What’s your online course like?
My online course consists of recorded videos from my live online classes. In the videos, I or other coaches present information using branded PowerPoint slides.
How long did it take you to create your course?
It took me 3-4 months. I just taught the classes live and recorded it.
Tell us a little about the process of launching your course and getting your first sale(s).
During the launch, I hold open enrollment periods where interested Marketing Leaders and CEOs can apply to the program. I advertise the launch using social media, ads, and email marketing. I also host masterclasses and open houses.
Do you have a lead magnet?
Yes, I have created many lead magnets consisting primarily of free PDFs. These lead magnets have been great for collecting email addresses, which I use for building stronger relationships converting them from cold to warm leads.
Here are some of the lead magnets:
- Rainmaker Roadmap
- Rainmaker Residency Syllabus
- Rainmaker Residency Plus Syllabus
- 5 Min Marketing Career Makeover Series
- Executive Dream Team Guide
- Scale Factor Assessment
- CEO Job Description
What’s the traffic strategy that works best for you?
I have always been a people person, and I love going deep and building personal, meaningful relationships. That’s why relationship marketing has always been my #1 marketing strategy, and it has also worked the best for me.
What online course platform are you using?
I use FG Funnel.
Do you like it?
I do! It is a complete CRM platform with everything you need in one place.
Are there any features you wish it had?
I wish I had better live chat functionality.
What made you decide to use your chosen platform over others?
I am a fan of the creators of FG Funnels.
What other tools do you use to run your online course business?
- slack
- asana
- canva
- loomly
What books or training programs have you found useful on your journey to a successful business owner that others might find valuable too?
I am a constant learner, so I have tooo many to count.
Do you have any big mistakes you’ve made along the way that you’d be willing to share?
Thinking an online course was a one-and-done endeavor. It’s never done. You’re constantly updating and making improvements to it. - Veronica Romney Click To TweetPlease tell us a little about what the money you’ve earned from your course has done for you.
For me, the money means that I get to serve more CEOs and Rainmakers and keep making new educational and insightful materials for them 🙂
What has creating your course done for you personally?
One of the most surreal and gratifying aspects of creating this course is the realization that people are not only interested in the knowledge I’ve shared but are willing to pay for my intellectual property.
Knowing that the information and expertise I've cultivated over the years are genuinely valuable to others is a nice feeling. - Veronica Romney Click To TweetWhat advice do you have for people just starting out?
Teach your material LIVE over and over again before ever putting it on camera!
