These are perfect for your home page and will no doubt increase your sign-ups. You can set advanced triggers for each of them so you don’t annoy repeat visitors to your site. In addition, unlike a lot of email tools, Sumo also offers a Smart Bar. I’ve paid for bars like these separately in the past because I think they work really well so I like how they’re bundled with the rest of the opt-in tools.

Disadvantages:

You can definitely gain value out of the free tools Sumo. The only downside is the the $49/month price tag for their paid plan. It’s a great product though and you can always give it a try to see how the free plan works out for you. If it’s worth it, then upgrade to the paid plan and if not, try something else.
