Who are you and what course have you created?

I am Luke Van Der Veer, and I teach business owners how to generate their leads, build passive income, and reclaim their time freedom without paying for ads or marketing.

What market does your online course serve?

My online courses as a digital trainer are made to be accessible to a wide range of people with a primary focus on people and companies looking for success in the digital age. The courses are designed with the changing demands of professionals, company owners, and entrepreneurs managing the digital space in mind. Digital marketing tactics, effective leadership in the digital age, business financial management, and integrating technology for sustainable growth are just a few of the topics covered in the content.

What’s the biggest benefit of taking your course?

The biggest benefit of taking my digital training course is the practical and actionable knowledge you’ll gain to navigate and excel in the digital landscape. This singular focus ensures long-term success by enabling people to proactively navigate digital complexities.

How did you get into the market?

The idea for entering the market came from seeing how much demand there was for complete and easily accessible digital education. Observing the difficulties businesses and professionals encounter in adjusting to technology advancements, I recognized a chance to provide specialised courses that combine industry insights, practical skills, and a forward-thinking methodology.

Why did you decide to create an online course in the first place?

My goal in creating online courses was to democratise education by providing insightful knowledge and useful skills to a worldwide audience. The online format creates a dynamic and accessible learning environment by enabling students to overcome time and geographic limitations.

Did you have any moments of doubt before you created/launched it?

Doubts are common during the course creation phase in the digital training. Making sure the course was not just educational but also captivating and transformational was a challenge. Nonetheless, there was an an agreement regarding the importance of addressing the skills gap and meeting the high demand for digital education. The project advanced because of the commitment to ongoing improvement and the realisation that the course could actually enable people in the digital world.

What’s your online course like?

My online course is a dynamic blend of video lectures, interactive text-based modules, and engaging quizzes. The video content includes a mix of live-action presentations and instructional PowerPoint slides. This combination ensures a multisensory learning experience, catering to various learning styles.

How long did it take you to create your course?

My digital training course took several months to create and the process was very precise. Extensive research was conducted in the first phase to determine the most current and pertinent content for learners. After that, the information was arranged into a curriculum that followed a logical order for the topics. Continuous iterations were made to improve the overall effectiveness and user experience throughout the process based on testing and feedback.

Tell us a little about the process of launching your course and getting your first sale(s).

An initial pre-launch marketing campaign was conducted to create interest and sales. Teaser material was part of this, offering brief excerpts from the course and emphasizing its special selling point. Using email newsletters and social media, I tried to build interest and anticipation in my target market. Following the launch, the first participants’ feedback was actively wanted which made it possible to make quick changes to improve the course even more.

Do you have a lead magnet?

No, I don’t currently have a lead magnet in place. The course content itself serves as a demonstration of the depth and quality of the training, allowing learners to experience the value.

What’s the traffic strategy that works best for you?

The combination of partnerships and content marketing has proven to be the most successful traffic approach.

It has been essential to provide insightful, useful, and shareable content about digital skills, industry trends, and insights. - Luke Van Der Veer Click To Tweet

The course’s reach has been increased through strategic partnerships with influential people and professionals in the field of digital education.

What online course platform are you using?

I use a WordPress-based customised online learning environment. Flexibility in terms of design, functionality, and user experience is possible with this customised solution. It offers the benefit of total control over the user engagement features, content presentation, and course structure, ensuring that participants in the digital training programmes receive the best possible learning experience.

Do you like it?

It has been a great decision to use a customised WordPress-based online course platform. I value being able to customise the platform to my students’ unique needs and deliver a streamlined, branded experience.  As a digital trainer, it’s a dependable and easy-to-use solution that enables me to create a stimulating and productive learning environment.

Are there any features you wish it had?

More powerful analytics and reporting capabilities are one feature I’d like to see. Improved understanding of participant engagement, progress monitoring, and assessment outcomes could provide important information for improving the course and customising it to better suit the needs of the learners.

What made you decide to use your chosen platform over others?

Freedom and control were the main reasons for selecting a WordPress-based customised online course platform. A flexible library for developing an interesting and branded learning environment is provided by the vast collection of plugins and themes.

What other tools do you use to run your online course business?

I use an open-source, platform-independent tool called “H5P” (HTML5 Package) makes it possible to create interactive content that is seamlessly integrated into your course. By enabling digital trainers to create attracting and interactive elements, it exceeds normal content formats. Due to its flexibility to work with different Learning Management Systems, H5P is a useful but sometimes ignored tool for online trainers looking to increase the engagement and efficiency of their courses.

What books or training programs have you found useful on your journey to a successful business owner that others might find valuable too?

Seth Godin’s “AltMBA” is one special and useful program that has significantly impacted my approach to business. The AltMBA is a strict four-week virtual workshop with a focus on developing a transformative mindset, leadership, and innovation.

Do you have any big mistakes you’ve made along the way that you’d be willing to share?

I didn’t give much thought to creating a thriving online community around my courses at first. There was a gap between me and the students as a result of this lack of encouraging networks. After realising this, I changed my approach and started actively promoting a feeling of community. The use of communication channels, live Q&A sessions, and discussion forums improved the learning process.

Please share some idea of revenue.

A positive trend can be seen in the average monthly sales of about $20,000 where each course launch exceeds the previous one. A combination of successful marketing techniques, ongoing enhancements driven by learner feedback, and the expansion of the course offerings are responsible for the revenue growth.

Please tell us a little about what the money you’ve earned from your course has done for you.

My career path has been greatly supported by the money I’ve made from my online training courses. It has improved the overall learning experience by bringing financial stability and enabling calculated investments back into course development. It hasn’t enabled me to make big life decisions like buying a vacation or a down payment on a house but it has given me the freedom to keep spending time and money improving and growing the digital training options.

In addition to revenue are there any numbers you would like to share?

Establishing a community of enthusiastic learners quickly has been one of my most important achievements in digital training. In three months, I was able to gather 1,200 YouTube subscribers. - Luke Van Der Veer Click To Tweet

This success was supported by a methodical approach to content marketing, in which I regularly provided insightful analyses and useful advice on digital skills and market trends. Through the use of SEO optimisation, attracting thumbnails, and comment section engagement, the YouTube channel increased to popularity as a go-to source for people looking for useful and relevant information.

What has creating your course done for you personally?

On a personal level, developing and delivering digital training courses has been incredibly fulfilling. I feel like having achieved something and fulfilled a personal and professional goal knowing that the content I’ve created has helped learners.

Do you have a story of a transformation from any of your clients?

Seeing one of my clients go through a transformation is one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had. A student who was having trouble with their digital skills at first came to my classes in an effort to improve. This person gained the skills required to land a job in a competitive field by applying the course material with diligence and commitment. Finding out about their accomplishment gave me a strong sense of pride and fulfilment. Being aware that one of my courses contributed to someone’s career change is an inspiring feeling that keeps me dedicated to offering valuable instruction.

What advice do you have for people just starting out?

I would advise anyone just getting started in the field of digital training to encourage risk-taking and experimentation. Make course iterations based on learner feedback and data-driven insights. - Luke Van Der Veer Click To Tweet

Don’t be afraid to try unconventional approaches on occasion because sometimes the most creative solutions come from the most unlikely places.
